"BUBUR PEDAS" FROM SAMBAS

Bubur pedas, when you heard by the name it must be spicy, right?

BUT, HOLD ON !!

Forget all about the name "bubur pedas" because something that you will find is a mush that made from many varieties of traditional vegetable, it likes fern that taken from the leaf and bud, galangal leaves, kencur leaf, and other herb leaves. I also attach the recipe for you, don't worry.. :)

The main spices are roasted and ground rice mixed with finely roasted grated coconut and finely ground part, plus pepper coriander and other kind of spices.That's why people in Sambas mention "bubur pedas" as Congee King because almost of all ingredients come included.

Can you imagine how it looks like and the taste?????

This is the traditional food that you will find only when you visit the Sambas city. At least, if you come to Sambas, you will not go home with empty-hands because you will bring  home the food as a souvenir that you may not found in other place.

Talking about price? Don't worry because the price of this one will not spend much your money, it's very cheap because the price is very popular in the community.

SAMBAS spicy porridge recipe:
Ingredient:
  • 259grams rice, washed
  • 100grams coconut, grated
  • 150grams cow bones with a bit of adhering meat
  • 5 beans stalk, chopped
  • 1 bunch kale, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 50grams sweet potato, diced
  • 50grams kesum leaves, thinly diced
  • 1000cc water
Complement:
  • 100grams of peanuts, fried
  • 50grams of fish, fried
  • Fried unions
  • Soy sauce
  • Lime
  • Condiment
  • Crackers
Seasoning:
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 stalk lemon grass, crushed
  • 2cm galangal, smashed
  • 3 red unions
  • 1 clove garlic unions
  • 1 piece red pepper
  • 1/4 tea spoon black pepper powder
The way:
  • Toasted rice and grated coconut, remove from heat. Mash smooth, set aside.
  • Boil water, boil until cooked bones with a bit of adhering meat. Enter the spices, bat leaves, lemon grass, galangal stir.
  • Add mash rice and stir. Enter the carrot, long beans, kale, sweet potatoes. Cook until done, remove from heat.
  • Serve with a sprinkling of peanuts, fried anchovies, and unions.
  • This most delicious dish eaten with crackers. Soy sauce, chili, and lime can added in each bowl according to the taste.
